Zirconium (Zr)

Metal Zr has excellent corrosion resistance and the absorption cross-sectional area of thermal neutrons is very small. It has the property that the high temperature strength becomes strong when added to the alloy. Applications include coating tubes and core materials for reactor fuel, superconducting materials, and heat-resistant metal materials.
